About this resource

This free card is for people who are receiving compulsory treatment or feel at risk of compulsory treatment.

It says how an independent advocate can:

  • listen to what you want and talk to you about your options
  • give you information and support to act on your rights
  • work with you so you can have your say
  • refer you to other services if you need.

The card has information about how to contact IMHA (Independent Mental Health Advocacy) for independent, free and confidential services.

Artwork on this card is by Mazart.

Free postcards about compulsory treatment and independent advocates are also available in Amharic, Arabic, Assyrian, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Croatian, Dari, Dinka, English, Farsi, Filipino, Greek, Hindi, Italian, Karen, Korean, Macedonian, Oromo, Punjabi, Russian, Serbian, Sinhalese, Somali, Spanish, Tamil, Turkish, Urdu and Vietnamese.
