Preparing to see one of our lawyers

Make the best use of your time with a lawyer by being prepared. You will need:

  • any documents relating to your legal issue – police statements, court papers, letters, fines, copies of emails or medical reports
  • a list of your questions
  • your health care card
  • proof of your income.

It may also be useful to look at I need legal information about ... to get some basic information about your legal issue.

Our offices

Depending on your circumstances, you may be able to make an appointment at one of our offices to see a lawyer for free legal advice. Call us on 1300 792 387.

Other places we visit to give advice

Our lawyers regularly visit the mental health inpatient units of hospitals in Melbourne, Bendigo, Dandenong and Geelong.

They also visit the following locations across Victoria to provide free legal advice.
